Carrie, a girl born in prison from a father convicted of three murders and a mother who committed suicide shortly after Carrie's birth, struggles through life trying to keep afloat until she receives a mysterious letter that will change her life forever.

Part of Myself is a gripping story about Carrie, a woman with a tough past. Growing up in Texas in a group home, she always felt the shadow of her father's crimes and her mother's tragic death. Her life is a mix of longing for understanding and dealing with loneliness.

Moving to Irvine, California, Carrie starts as a waitress, hoping for a fresh start. But things take a turn when she gets news about her sick grandmother in Portland, Oregon. This leads to unexpected events, including a fight over her grandmother's estate and new relationships. Carrie's journey is full of ups and downs, including betrayal and heartbreak, but also hope and strength.

The book shows her struggle to face her past and shape her future, drawing readers into her emotional world. Eugene Leigh's novel is not just a story; it's an insight into human nature, the importance of forgiveness, and finding one's true self. It's a book that takes you deep into Carrie's life and her path towards finding peace.

PROLOGUE

When the lawyer arrived on the scene, her client lay dead on the bathroom floor. Rachel had killed herself by a wall in the ladies’ room. The forensics team swept through the tiles, photographing the body and interviewing potential witnesses. The smell of sanitizers and ammonia prevailed everywhere.

Her client’s body leaned by the wall, all four limbs strewn without life, no doubt of her mortality. Nothing was left for the lawyer except waiting for the autopsy report, which would take weeks. However, right now, she had one more person to see.

The lawyer headed towards the nursery. Tears leveled her eyelids as she paced down the corridor. When she burst in, a nursery staff member stared. “Miss Taylor, what brings…”

The lawyer halted in front of crib number four, where a baby girl rested, barely able to open her eyes. The lawyer reached out and picked up the child, holding her tight. The nursery staff allowed it, even though they were bewildered by the circumstances.

The newborn gently slept without making a sound. The lawyer took her time, but couldn’t stop crying.
With the little baby’s innocence snug so tight, how could she tell this poor soul? Carrie, your mother just committed suicide.

The post Top 8 Sarah Adams Books In Order For 2023 (Updated) appeared first on Joelbooks.

]]>

I fancy a good love story any day, anytime and a good read is not hard to get with Sarah Adams’ books. Ever since I discovered her, I have never gone back. I think she is a phenomenal writer with a skill that always leaves me smiling or even crying in the end. I have actually re-read most of her books.

Whenever I’m in a somber mood, I know which book of hers will leave me giggling and lighten my day. I believe in love, and Sarah surely knows how to give hope even to others. She has always exceeded my expectations when it comes to romance stories. Her novels always have a fantastic plot with a top-notch writing style. Really there is nothing to dislike about her books.

If you haven’t yet discovered her works and would like to familiarize yourself, I have compiled some of her books below.

What We Need To Know About Sarah Adams?

 • Sarah Adams was born and raised in Nashville, TN
 • Sunshine lover
 • She is a coffee addict (kindred spirit), and owns more mugs than I can ever imagine
 • Married (Chris was her older brother’s best friend), and mother of two (two daughters)
 • Dog owner (Golden Retriever)

…and she is a very talented romance writer, so let's dig into her best books:

What Are The Top Sarah Adams Books? (Ordered)

(Check out also further Upcoming Sarah Adams Books)

The Rule Book, by Sarah Adams (April 2024)

The story picks up with Nora Mackenzie, a budding sports agent, whose career precariously depends on Derek Pender, a famous NFL tight end and her ex-boyfriend from college. The plot thickens as Derek, holding a grudge from their past, decides to make Nora's job a living hell as a form of playful revenge.

Both Nora and Derek are well-rounded characters with clear motivations and depth. Their past relationship and the lingering feelings they have for each other add a layer of complexity to the story. The chemistry between them is palpable, making their interactions engaging and the romantic tension authentic.

For anyone who enjoys a good second-chance romance with a blend of humor and heart, this book is definitely worth a read.

Practice Makes Perfect, by Sarah Adams (May 2023)

Florist Annie Walker is on a quest to find her perfect match, but after being called “unbelievably boring” by a date, she begins to doubt herself. Wondering if she can transform into the vivacious protagonist of her favorite romance films, she decides she needs a tutor in flirtation. Enter Will Griffin, a tattooed security expert in town to guard pop-star Amelia Rose, who is set to marry Annie's brother. Although Will initially wants to avoid any ties to the town and especially to Annie, he finds himself roped into helping her overhaul her love life.

As they engage in faux dates and playful lessons, the boundaries of their relationship become muddled. Annie starts to realize that her ideal love story might not be as picture-perfect as she thought, but instead, genuine and true.

I personally think this romance is a captivating delightful romance with unforgettable characters and impeccable storytelling elements that had me utterly enthralled.

When in Rome, by Sarah Adams (September 2022)

When in Rome is an entertaining, sweet novel that left me aching for more. It is opposites attract telltale. The pop star and a small-town baker plot is indeed one for the books. Sarah Adams delivers her magic in this story of Amelia Rose, also known as Rae Rose, who is adored by her pop fans. But she burned out due to forced public appearances and pressure from her manager. One night she is inspired by her favorite film Roman Holiday, by Audrey Hepburn, and decides to drive off to Rome for a break.

Unfortunately, her car breaks down in front of Noah Walkers' lawn. Noah is a pie shop owner who doesn’t have time for celebrity problems. Since the nearby bed and breakfast is full, he decides to let Amelia stay in his guest room only until her car is fixed. But Noah starts to admire her with a growing closeness to her irresistible beauty. Amelia is kindhearted, lonely, and funny.

Noah shows Amelia all the beautiful small-town experiences she has missed from her celebrity lifestyle. The grumpy side of Noah and his charming looks are irresistible to Amelia, and like the film Roman Holiday, the break eventually ends. But this won’t be for long.

The banter between these two is fascinating. Sarah Adams’ narration of the slow-burn chemistry between Amelia and Noah will have you biting your fist. The built-up sexual tension is also satisfying to read; how their opposite personalities complement each other had me hooked. This novel is spicy, and Sarah couldn't do a better job.

The Cheat Sheet, by Sarah Adams (April 2022)

The Cheat Sheet is a sensational and funny, challenging-to-put-down novel. It is one of Sarah Adams's most read books. She narrates the story of Bree, who is hopelessly romantically in love with her NFL long-time best friend, Nathan Donelson. He is extremely hot and hard to resist.

But Bree can’t give in to her feelings, for she better keeps their friendship than risk complicating everything. Unfortunately, her professional ballerina career ended after being involved in a car accident. She takes a new path of owning a dance studio, although a rent increase deems impossible for her to go on.

Nathan as a friend, helps her out and purchases the whole building. Bree being a stubborn one, is not delighted by the move. She ends up blurting her feelings for Nathan to a TMZ reporter over some tequila shots. That viral video becomes the talk of the town, and now the world thinks they are perfect for each other.

Before they talk about it, Nathan’s publicist proposes an opportunity that will help financial security for Bree. But there is a catch: they have to spend three weeks together and pretend to fall in love. Will Bree give in to her feelings and imagine Nathan enjoying their moments?

This kind of delight is what will make you want to find out how everything goes until the last chapter. But even better, this book is hilarious. It will highly appeal to you if you love a story of friends who become lovers.

The Temporary Roomie, by Sarah Adams (March 2021)

The Temporary Roomie is a hilarious sizzling closed-door comedy book that left me crying out of laughter. Sarah Adams is that good. In this book of literally playing nice with your greatest enemy, Drew Marshall lets Jessie move into his spare bedroom as her house undergoes renovation.

Jessie is set to make her life miserable after what he did to her- an ugly and fake relationship. She is not good at forgetting and forgiving mistakes, but she is determined to get the ground even. Due to their forced proximity and excellent pranks thrown at each other, they both start to see that they may have more than just games. How their relationship progressed left me snorting back my laughter.

This book is a perfect relationship of enemies turned into lovers following a vengeful ploy. It has funny characters and excellent scene descriptions without foul language. It will make you laugh-out loud and have you hooked with the characters’ sexual innuendo. I would recommend reading Sarah’s The Off Limits Rule (details in a bit) than picking up this one.

The Off Limits Rule, by Sarah Adams (December 2020)

The Off Limits Rule is a remarkable and well written book. It is the first entry of the It Happened in Nashville series. In this one, Lucy, a young single mother, moves in with her brother Ryan while trying to get her life back on track.

Forced out of despair, she goes to the lake, where she meets Cooper, her brother’s best friend. Cooper immediately takes a liking to her, even though there is a strict no dating Ryan sister rule. Cooper is flirty and not one who can commit to someone. But he can’t help the attraction he has toward Lucy. They have to find a way to tell Ryan about their relationship.

Their electric chemistry is melting; it's like love at first sight. Getting to know them will be a true delight. Sarah has written this book from a dual point of view, and these characters' amazing internal witty dialogue will make you love this book even more.

The Enemy, by Sarah Adams (August 2020)

The Enemy is a story of sassy and feisty June, who is entangled with the sexy and determined Ryan. This book is for you if you believe enemies deserve another chance. When these two lay their eyes on each other at their best friend’s wedding, the sparks come flying off.

Ryan and June have always been enemies, and June is firmly resolved on showing him how she doesn't care about him or the almost kiss Ryan dangled over her after graduation. June is now a successful bakery owner, and she must rub any pleasurable detail of her life in Ryan’s face. The only problem is that he has a gorgeous face. For June, Ryan’s interest is simply a continuation of the games they played back in high school. Or is he genuine?

Between their pranks, witty banter, and tender moments, this book is hard to put down. It will fill you with tears of laughter. The sizzling chemistry between June and Ryan is to die for. You will love the flirtatious scenes of winning June, and it will be interesting to see Ryan's determination to get his way into June's life.

The Match, by Sarah Adams (May 2020)

This story had me hooked from the beginning. The Match is a southern setting story without cringy accents and stereotypes. Evie, who has worked at Southern Service Paws for years, meets a single dad Jacob Broaden, a client, about matching his daughter with one of the service dogs. With their instant attraction, things don’t go well at first, especially at dinner, but then he admits his wrong and that he cares about Sam (Evie’s son?).

Evie is careful and spontaneous and thinks that Jake is way out of her league to have a relationship with him. After seeing a different side of him, while they work closely with his daughter, she starts to imagine a family with him. Jake, is attracted to Evie and looks at her with fiery eyes.

The drama with Evie’s family and Jake’s ex will make you enjoy this story even more and anticipate further details. Other characters like Joanna and her husband are also fun to read. I love how Sarah has taken enough time to familiarize us with Evie and Jake’s relationship and make it believable. I also enjoy how she uses well one-liners and quotes many food references. This is a yummy story, I must say.

Inspiring Quotes From Sarah Adams Books

Bree is everything I aspire to be, everything I love, everything I desire. She holds my heart, and, with all that I am, I hope she never gives it back.

― Sarah Adams, The Cheat Sheet

Your soul is my favorite in this entire world,

― Sarah Adams, The Cheat Sheet

Listen to me, darlin’, and remember this for the rest of your life: it’s always okay to go home. Anytime you feel uncomfortable or scared, never worry about what anyone else is going to think if you call your daddy and have him come get you. Your house is a safe place, and you love being there, and that’s something to be proud of, not embarrassed about.

― Sarah Adams, The Match

Final Thoughts on Sarah Adams Books

Sarah Adams writes her books excellently and adequately leaves your soul feeling yearning for a warm fuzzy hug. She has many books that demonstrate her exemplary talent in the field of a romance comedy. If you have been missing out on good love story reads, then any of her book titles above will leave you hopeful for love. I hope you will have as much fun reading them as I did.

The post Top 8 Christina Lauren Books In Order (2023) Updated appeared first on Joelbooks.

]]>

You only need one book signed by Christina Lauren to fall in love with the storytelling capabilities and funky plot twists. There’s a bit of humor, plenty of young adult fiction, as well as romance and action, basically, a bit of everything.

Unveiling Christina Lauren: The Dynamic Duo Behind the Pen Name

What most people don’t know is the fact that Christina Lauren is not one author. Sure, you’ll find quite a few Christina Lauren books, but the pen name is actually used by two writing partners and best friends, Christina Hobbs and Lauren Billings, who together have authored 18 New York Times bestselling novels in both YA and women's fiction genres.

Lauren Billings, also known as Lo, holds a doctorate in neuroscience from UC Irvine and has previously conducted research on neurodegeneration in aging. She lives in California with her family and two dogs. Christina Hobbs, affectionately called PQ by Lo, previously worked in a junior high counseling office and now spends her time writing or watching BTS videos. She resides in Utah with her husband and daughter, and is passionate about boy bands and glitter.

The duo has had their books translated into over 30 languages. With these thoughts in mind, let me introduce you to some of my favorite releases.

I have arranged the following Christina Lauren books in reverse chronological order for your convenience.

What Are The Top Christina Lauren Books?

The True Love Experiment, by Christina Lauren (2023)

To be honest with you, I strongly believe this book will be made into a movie at some point, it’s that good. As one of my favorite Christina Lauren books, it tells Fizzy’s story. She feels a bit lost. She’s a successful romance writer, but she has never experienced what she’s preaching for.

Sure, she’s felt lust and passion before, but she had never experienced those butterflies, those feelings of always thinking about him. And then, her constant optimism slowly turns into pessimism, as she realizes she has no clue what love feels like.

But then, she meets Connor, a filmmaker, and single father. He's asked to create a reality TV show based on love, but he has no clue where to start. When the two meet, they realize this could be the perfect scenario.

There’s only one problem. He’s pretty good at making her fall for him, but his feelings are not going in the right direction. From this point on, I’ll let you discover the outcome yourself.

Something Wilder, by Christina Lauren (2023)

Lily’s childhood hasn’t been great. Her father Duke, a famous treasure hunter, hasn't been around too much. She's grown up without much patience and, despite her father's job, without too much money too. But she's not stupid, though.

Using her father’s hand-drawn maps, she decides to start a local tourism business, guiding tourists around less known areas. Moreover, on a side note, she also guides amateur treasure hunters through the canyons in Utah.

She has a dream though, buying her father’s ranch, the one he got rid of years ago. However, while her jobs do help with the bills, there’s not enough left to fulfill her dreams. When her childhood love Leo turns up, she’s all about business, despite his attempts to get her to fall in love with him.

And that’s when the action begins.

The Soulmate Equation, by Christina Lauren (2021)

This is one of my favorite Christina Lauren books and follows single mom Jess and the fine line between fate and decision. She plays it safe, loves numbers, and takes no risks. Therefore, she's not really interested in getting back on the dating scene. After all, her family wasn't great, so she’s not too confident.

But then, she finds out about GeneticAlly, similar to some reality TV shows these days. Basically, the company grabs DNA from more people to find the perfect match. This makes sense, and after all, there are no risks at all, so she’s up for the challenge.

Surprisingly for everyone, she's matching the GeneticAlly founder by 98%. She already knows Doctor River, and she finds it difficult to believe. He's far from what she would expect from her soulmate. However, GeneticAlly comes with an offer she just can’t refuse.

Whether it's money or true love, I'll let you find out yourself what happens in this spicy story. And trust me, if you think you know how it ends, I recommend reading it first, and you'll be surprised.

In a Holidaze, by Christina Lauren (2020)

Christmas is the most beautiful time of the year, but not for everyone. Maelyn lives with her parents, and she hates everything about her life. She's been terribly failed in love, while her job pays the bills, but has nothing to do with her dreams. In other words, she’s a total mess.

This is the last Christmas she’ll spend at the cabin in Utah where her family has always spent holidays. Driving away in tears, she asks the universe for a change. What’s going to make her happy? What’s going to show her what happiness looks like? And then, she gets a sign.

She’s involved in an accident and passes out without remembering anything. When she wakes up, she’s on an airplane, going on holiday to the beloved cabin. It’s a time loop that keeps repeating again and again. There’s definitely something she’s doing wrong, but she has to figure out what.

She’ll have to find happiness one way or another in order to break free. Will she manage to do it?

The Honey-Don't List, by Christina Lauren (2020)

Carey is nearly an expert in home remodeling. After all, she’s worked for some of the most famous names in the industry. But deep down inside her, she’s a country girl, despite her vision in terms of interior design.

Now, the design gurus she works for are about to take the world by storm. Everyone knows who they are. They’re about to launch a book too, but there’s one major problem. Melissa and Rusty hate each other, despite posing as a perfect couple.

They're about to go on a tour, and they take Carey with them, as well as James, a structural engineer. They both dislike the idea, but none of them can quit. Carey needs the money and insurance, while James has been promised the role of a lifetime.

Get ready for a cheeky adventure full of quirky fun and a bit of romance.

Twice in a Blue Moon, by Christina Lauren (2019)

Sam and Tate discover love on vacation abroad. However, this isn't just a summer love. It's not one of those new relationships where they discover themselves. Instead, it's one of those where they share everything, their goals in life, passions, literally everything.

Time flies, though and they take different paths in life. Tate is a movie star's daughter and follows the same road. However, no one can tell what the future has in store for them. And 14 years later, while she still thinks about her first love, she finds him.

He’s there, just as confident. He’s looking at her, but she can’t forget the past. He betrayed her. Now, she’s asking herself whether she’s about to make the same mistake again. Or maybe he’s changed, who knows? After all, he’s a grown man now.

I won't give you too many spoilers, but you'll love the outcome. Besides, you'll recognize Christina Lauren’s remarkable signature straight away.

The Unhoneymooners, by Christina Lauren (2019)

Olive has never been a lucky girl. Her career? Terrible. Her love life? Inexistent. Pretty much nothing works for her. But then, she has a twin sister, Amy. And Ami is the opposite, she feels like the luckiest person in the world.

Besides, she’s managed to get the perfect wedding by winning a series of competitions online.

Things get a bit messy when Ami asks Olive to spend the day with Ethan, the best man. However, Olive and Ethan are sworn enemies, so that’s when the nightmare begins. Olive thinks she’ll survive. After all, 24 hours won’t be that bad.

Her bad luck just won't let go, though. Everyone at the wedding gets food poisoning, apart from Olive and Ethan. And now there’s a honeymoon up for grabs, but no one can really go.

The two decide to put their hatred aside in order to enjoy this beautiful vacation in Hawaii. A bunch of small mistakes and issues lead to a plethora of misunderstandings. Now, Olive and Ethan must pretend they're in a relationship in order to save appearances.

Love and Other Words, by Christina Lauren (2018)

Macy is extremely ambitious and tries to plan every little aspect of her life. She works like a slave in order to build a career in medicine, but she also wants to marry an older and more responsible man, ideally a financially secure one.

She has experienced love before, but nothing really lasts. Now, she runs into Elliot, the first love of her life and probably the only man she's truly cared about. Her heart takes over, and her well detailed plan starts falling apart.

The problem is he’s already broken her heart in the past, so she doesn’t want to make the same mistake again.

The best part about this book? The action floats between then and now. You’ll be surprised by some of their reactions, but then you’ll understand why they do this and that. Small references to the past will fill the gaps and give you a better image, definitely one of the best Christina Lauren books.

Inspiring Quotes From Christina & Lauren

“Favorite word?” he whispers.
I don’t even hesitate: “You.”

― Christina Lauren, Love and Other Words

For some sick reason, fighting with this woman always ended with her panties in my pocket.

― Christina Lauren, Beautiful Bastard

I can appreciate my body in a bikini and still want to set fire to the patriarchy.

― Christina Lauren, The Unhoneymooners

Conclusion

I can definitely go on with this list. There are plenty of Christina Lauren books, and many of them could have gone here. I did struggle to come up with a list, but I believe these titles will give you a good idea about what to expect from Christina Lauren’s quirky style.

Get ready to experience some lovely adventures, love, a few plot twists here and there, and relaxing stories, ideal for a day on the beach or in your garden.

The post Top 8 Lauren Asher Books (In Order) For 2023 appeared first on Joelbooks.

]]>

An overactive creativity, plenty of imagination, and unexpected plot twists out of nowhere, that's pretty much how I could describe Lauren Asher. Known for her fast-paced action stories, she's one of the few authors who will manage to hook you up from the first chapter.

And trust me when I say that you'll be excited throughout the whole book, devouring one page after another. Lauren Asher is the type of author who knows how to trigger your emotions and bring in a bit of steam, just what I’m looking for in a relaxing book.

Who is Lauren Asher?

Lauren Asher is a writer with a vivid imagination, and she spends much of her free time reading and writing. Her goal is to travel to the places she writes about in her stories. Lauren loves to create characters that are flawed yet relatable, and her stories are fast-paced with plenty of angst, steam, and emotion. In addition to writing and reading, Lauren is also a big fan of Formula 1 racing.

In her downtime, Lauren enjoys watching YouTube, binging on old episodes of Parks and Rec, and searching Yelp for new restaurants to try out. She is most productive after her morning coffee and will never pass up an opportunity for a nap. She is also a very shy author since she have close to zero personal appearances except some rare opportunities.

She loves series, and unlike other authors, I think she does a pretty good job at keeping readers entertained, rather than feeling like she's dragging stories. With these thoughts in mind, here are my favorite and upcoming Lauren Asher books and what you can expect from their stories.

What are the top Lauren Asher Books?

(Check out also the Upcoming Lauren Asher Books)

Love Redesigned (Lakefront Billionaires), by Lauren Asher (2023)

Julian is an attractive man but also the devil hidden behind a beautiful face. He's a rich brat with a few good business ideas. Dahlia, on the other hand, hates him. In fact, he's convinced that if he ever caught fire, she would most likely throw even more fuel on him.

One day, she returns to the small town of Lake Wisteria after a failed relationship, but she fully intends to avoid him. Knowing she’s back in town, he tries the same thing. After all, they've always been in a conflict, even when they were kids, and their families were friends.

But one day, he makes a serious proposal. He finds a beautiful historic house that needs renovation. He needs an interior designer, but he also knows that if Dahlia manages to find her creative spark, she’ll leave the town. It sounds like the perfect scenario.

The project will triple the profits, while his long-term frenemy will go away. The problem is things don’t always go as planned.

Final Offer (Dreamland Billionaires), by Lauren Asher (2023)

This is the final book in the Dreamland Billionaires series. Needless to say, it’s my favorite and brings in a top notch ending to a superlative series. It tells the story of Alana and Callahan. Now, let me give you a bit of background for each of them.

Callahan is one of the Kane brothers. Everyone's talking about him, but no one dares to say anything in front of him. He's well built, good looking, and rich. Everyone knows him, but no one really knows who he is. Except for Lana.

Now, moving on to Lana, she's his best childhood friend, and she knows pretty much everything about him. Now, she's in love with him, although he nearly broke her heart. The two never expected to meet again, but Callahan's grandfather passed away, so he's back in town.

He needs to sort the old lake house, but here comes the surprise. Lana claims to own the house as well. I won’t give you the ending, but trust me, it’s going to be amazing.

Terms and Conditions (Dreamland Billionaires), by Lauren Asher (2022)

The best part about the Dreamland Billionaires series is the fact that while there is a bit of connection between books, they’re not really related. Each book follows a different set of characters, so you can read whichever you want without feeling clueless.

I think this series got better and better with each release, which is the opposite of what normally happens. Anyway, let me get into it. This time, you have Declan and Iris. Declan is likely to inherit a media empire, but his grandfather’s inheritance clause kicks in.

Declan had to get married and get a child. Mission impossible! Until his assistant Iris decides she wants to help. In theory, the plan is simple. Move in, marry, get a baby, and set some rules, only to ensure there wouldn't be any issues at all.

There's one problem, though. Both of them start caring for each other, but they don’t want to break their rules either. After all, this is a business partnership. While it may look like you can guess the ending, get ready for a few plot twists on the way too.

The Fine Print (Dreamland Billionaires), by Lauren Asher (2021)

This is one of the first Lauren Asher books I’ve ever read. It’s also the book that got me into the Dreamland Billionaires series, as well as the release that convinced me about her skills and fast-paced writing style.

Rowan is one of the billionaire brothers of the series. His mission is to make dreams come true, from luxury hotels and theme parks to production companies. His biggest challenge is to renovate Dreamland, and he knows this could be the project of a lifetime.

He seeks help from Zahra, but hiring her wasn’t necessarily his best idea. She landed the job by mistake, after criticizing Dreamland in an honest review. All in all, one thing leads to another, and Rowan ends up kissing her.

Despite the attraction, Zahra is ready to prove that money can’t fix everything. And this is when the action begins. There's tension, but there's also attraction. He's a difficult boss, and she's an annoying employee, but somehow, it works.

Redeemed (Dirty Air Special Edition), by Lauren Asher (2021)

Although this is the fourth book in the Dirty Air series, it’s a standalone story that’s not connected to the others. Just like other Lauren Asher books, it tells the story from two different points of view. This time, you have Santiago and Chloe.

Santiago had the perfect life, but one mistake ruined everything for him. He was the most sought-after bachelor in town. Now, he’s just a shadow, a monster who no one wants to see. However, his life is about to take an unusual turn when Chloe breaks into his home and, well, his life.

Chloe was interested in finding her father, and all clues took her to Italy. But one bad decision brought her into Santiago's life. Now, the two are stuck in a fake relationship. Get ready for a few quirky adventures and plenty of humor, but only until things get steamy.

As we all know it, a fake relationship can’t be fake for too long.

Wrecked (Dirty Air Special Edition), by Lauren Asher (2020)

Jax is the type of man most women would avoid. Sure, he’s a good looking man, but at the end of the day, everything about him could be seen as a red flag. Literally, he has screaming problems. He likes adrenaline, alcohol, pills, you name it. If there’s something women dislike in men, he has it.

Jax has an addictive personality, but there’s a reason behind all these. He finds it impossible to deal with his pain without his dirty little helpers. However, he’s successful. And one day, his team hires Elena. She’s meant to help him fix his reputation.

Initially, she finds the job quite appealing. She's about to work for a Formula 1 team, and she's about to show off her PR skills. None of them expected this collaboration to turn into a war zone. She tries to find his weakness, while he struggles with his new addiction, her.

Collided (Dirty Air Special Edition), by Lauren Asher (2020)

I think it’s pretty obvious the author has a thing for Formula 1. After all, I can easily think of a few Lauren Asher books based on Formula 1 stories, and this is one of them. Liam is one of the golden stars in Formula 1, but no one really knows that he's actually a fraud.

He’s made to look seductive and devious, probably one of the best build characters in Lauren Asher’s books.

Then, you have Sophie. She’s definitely a fantasy, but her presence around Liam is likely to ruin his career. She’s not his friend, but his rival. And he knows he needs to resist her. Everyone knows they won’t do well together, but the tension is quite difficult to resist.

Although the concept is pretty similar to other books, I think this is by far the most intense book from Lauren Asher. Everything happens so fast that you just don't know what to pay attention to. It's very realistically written and, by far one of the best releases in her portfolio.

Throttled (Dirty Air Special Edition), by Lauren Asher (2020)

The first book in the Dirty Air series is one of the most intense ones too, mainly because of all the plot twists hitting out of nowhere. Noah is new to Formula 1. Everyone can see his talent, but he’s still young and has a lot to learn. He’s determined to do whatever it takes to be the first.

His approach is truly professional, well focused, and less likely to be distracted by anything. No one can go through to him. Now, Noah is also Maya's brother's teammate. Maya has a crush on him, but she knows it’s nearly impossible to get to him.

It’s not like Noah hasn’t noticed her, but his career is simply more important. In his eyes, she’s nothing but a random temptation. She wants love and fireworks, he wants to destroy everything, but release tension. It’s a destructive relationship, but if they play their cards right, it might actually work.

Best Quotes From Lauren Asher Books

Zahra’s it for me. I know it with everything in me, and my intuition has never been wrong before. There’s nothing in the world I’ll find more beautiful than her. Not the sun. Not the moon. Not even the entire galaxy compares to the light she radiates wherever she goes.

―Lauren Asher, The Fine Print

How about ten words then?” I laugh. “I’d like to see you try.” “I am falling in love with you, Iris Elizabeth Kane.

Lauren Asher, Terms and Conditions

I think we owe it to ourselves to unapologetically love who we are no matter what. Because if you don’t love yourself, then why do you expect anyone else to?

Final Thoughts on the best Lauren Asher Books

You’ll notice a bit of similarity in more Lauren Asher books. The idea is the same, two souls that hate each other, but with a very fine line between love and hate.

However, each story is unique, with its own action and plot twists. And the fast-paced effort makes everything even better.

The post 25+ Top-Rated Chick Lit Books (2023) Ordered by Date appeared first on Joelbooks.

There's nothing like a good chick lit book to make you forget your troubles and escape into a world of romance.

The world of Chick Lit books is one that is often filled with lighthearted fun, romance, and humor. While the term Chick Lit is used to describe a wide range of novels, most of them share similar themes and characteristics. Like holiday romance or gritty relations.

When life gets a bit much, there's nothing like a good story about romance and humor to make me feel better. I've read so many of them. They're fun, they're light, and honestly? They're not just for women; sometimes, I pass one of my favorite reads to Joel. And you know what? He actually takes it on his holiday, but psst! Don't tell anyone!

I'm always on the lookout for a new book to read, and I've got a list. Want to hear about the ones I think will be big hits in the next few months? Follow my list, it starts with the most recent releases.

What Is The Difference Between Chick Lit and Romance Novels?

The term “chick lit” is short for “chick literature,” and refers to books written by and for women. Chick lit books are typically cheerful and focus on the personal lives of the main characters. In contrast, romance novels are stories that focus on the relationship between two people.

While chick lit books may have romantic elements, they are not focused on the development of a relationship. Chick lit is a genre of fiction that focuses on young women and their emotional lives.

Check & Mate, by Ali Hazelwood (2023)

A former chess enthusiast, has distanced herself from the game after it caused upheaval in her family. Now primarily concerned with her family's welfare and her mundane job, she's thrust back into the chess scene when she unexpectedly defeats the world-renowned champion, Nolan Sawyer, known as the “Kingkiller.” This surprising win not only opens up opportunities for financial gains but also brings Mallory closer to the enigmatic Nolan.

As she climbs the competitive ladder, Mallory grapples with her renewed passion for the game and the complex feelings it arouses, all while striving to shield her family from the past shadows and navigating her tumultuous relationship with Nolan.

I felt a mix of anticipation and empathy when I read the story's premise. The intertwining of personal trauma with the intellectual world of chess created a unique and compelling narrative backdrop.

Happy Place, by Emily Henry (2023)

Navigating the pages of Emily Henry's Happy Place, one is immediately struck by the delicate balance of love's fragility and strength. The tale of Harriet and Wyn, a couple once inseparable, now clandestinely apart, is a poignant reflection on the lengths we go to protect those we care about. Set in the serene confines of a Maine cottage, a place drenched in memories and shared histories, the narrative unfolds with an urgency that tugs at the heartstrings. As the duo grapples with their concealed breakup amidst their unsuspecting friends, the story seamlessly integrates the dynamics of the larger group, painting a rich tapestry of interconnected relationships.

Henry's writing is a masterclass in emotional depth, capturing the silent torment of love lost and the hopeful glimmer of rekindling. The novel doesn't shy away from the multifaceted nature of grief, exploring not just the sorrow stemming from loss, but the aching nostalgia for cherished moments now in the rearview. Harriet and Wyn's unspoken bond, their silent exchanges laden with meaning, is a poignant testament to love's enduring spirit.

Happy Place is more than just a love story; it's a meditation on the complexities of relationships and the timeless dance of holding on and letting go. A compelling read that stays with you long after the final page.

The Lonely Hearts Book Club, by Lucy Gilmore (2023)

In this heartwarming novel, young librarian Sloane Parker forms an unexpected friendship with an old curmudgeon, Arthur McLachlan, in their small, quiet town.

Despite leading a seemingly lonely life, Sloane looks forward to her daily interactions with Arthur at the library, where they engage in playful banter. When Arthur suddenly stops visiting, Sloane becomes concerned and decides to track him down, only to find him bedridden but secretly pleased to see her.

To brighten Arthur's life, Sloane organizes an impromptu book club, attracting the town's lonely misfits who gradually discover the joy of newfound camaraderie. Through the shared experience of discussing their favorite books, the club members find solace in their unlikely friendships and realize that everyone has a special book in their heart, guiding them on a journey of self-discovery and connection.

I think the whole book concept is unique in many ways, if you want to read something refreshing this summer than this book could be a great choice.

His mother hopes their only son not only follows in Kingsley's footsteps as a politician, but takes on his father's role as an aspiring lawyer, which is not his explicit interest. I enjoyed reading the love story unfold between Cate and Joe. I love how they are able to make you believe in their decisions even if they don't seem to be ok all the time.

If you are into exciting queer romances this chick lit book is definitely for you!

Lockdown on London Lane, by Beth Reekles (2022)

This story has some nasty moments, but it seemed to me that a lot of enjoyment could have been had if we were just stuck with the characters in the place. I'm not sure, but maybe it could be a nostalgic COVID Rom-Com this year.

A small apartment complex found a 7 days quarantine order on Sunday. This did not sound so bad, but it was actually quite disruptive for many couples. Some of them were separated, and some of them sticked together and 7 days could a be a very long time.

Liv was also there with her best friend and other members of the wedding party on a weekend planning session that went extremely well. But the girls did not have enough living space and all the arrangements led to some discomfort.

Imogen had a one-night stand with a young man whose name she forgot. She somehow managed to get out next day morning, but without luck since she had to return to her company to spend the rest of the week with him.

I liked the engaging cast of characters and found them intriguing.

Lease on Love, by Falon Ballard (2022)

Sadie Green is in desperate need of three things after being passed over for an overdue promotion. A stiff drink, a new place to live, and a one-night stand.

But when an accidental mix-up lands her on the doorstep of Jack Thomas's elegant Brooklyn brownstone, Sadie gets more excited about renting the property than she is about Jack himself.

The journey from roommates to lovers are always a delight to read. They are filled with witty banter, sexual tension, and heartwarming moments.

The book is about the story of Sadie and Jack who eventually fall in love. They have to overcome some obstacles along the way, but in the end they get their happy ending. This novel is sexy and sweet all at the same time. I highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a good chick lit romance story.

The story takes places in Italy, in a charming place, and we follow the events happening to the sisters to discover the identity of “R”. This is a real heartbreaker novel, for the lovers of deep emotions.

The Fashion Orphans, by Randy Susan Meyers and M.J. Rose (2022)

Gabrielle Winslow and Lulu Quattro are half-sisters. Gabrielle, the firstborn, was raised in luxury on Manhattan's exclusive Upper East Side. Now, at 55, her life as a Broadway costume designer married to a celebrated Broadway producer has ended up in a divorce. With no children either biological or adopted, her life has become reduced to her work at the Ditmas Park bakery that is owned by her late husband's family.

But to their surprise, what their mothers had left was a storage closet filled with high-end designer clothing and Chanel accessories.

A heartwarming and memorable tale about the concept that one individual's absence can change how things are perceived and that establishing a bond through reminiscences can facilitate the retrieval of the past.

A thoroughly enjoyable and laid-back chick lit book, that had me laughing several times.

Dream House, by Stephanie Fournet (2022)

Stella Mouton gets her parents' neglected house when it was left to her by her grandmother. Unfortunately, it is no longer wise to maintain or care for the house, so she rents it out.

My favorite characters were Pen and Tyler. We are here a huge lover of spirituality and tarot. Pen was such a bundle of witchy intuitive awesomeness. It was uniquely absorbing to read about the metaphysical stuff and philosophical thoughts.

I deeply cared about the characters, wanted to know their fates, and cried for their hopeless dreams.

Poppy and Alex are bewitching together and I laughed as I read all their leisure banter and conversations. Poppy is the daffy one while Alex is the guileless one, but both are equally likable in their own way.

This is great friends to lovers book, that is well deserved the Goodreads Choice Awards in 2021.

Best Chick Lit Books For Women

The Way I Hate Him, by Meghan Quinn (2023)

Meghan Quinn's The Way I Hate Him is a refreshing deviation from the typical romance narrative.

At its core, it's a tale of revenge gone wrong, but what truly captivates is the electric tension between the protagonist and Hayes Farrow.

In a particularly poignant moment, Hayes pleads, “Don’t kiss me, Hattie. Please don’t kiss me. I won’t be able to stop you.” This raw vulnerability, juxtaposed with the initial animosity, showcases the depth and complexity of their evolving relationship.

Quinn's exploration of truth and deception, both in love and in familial ties, sets this novel apart. A riveting read that delves into the gray areas of human emotion.

Happy Place, by Emily Henry (2023)

Five months after their breakup, Harriet and Wyn find themselves sharing a bedroom at their friend group's annual Maine cottage getaway, a cherished tradition for the past decade. Despite the unresolved feelings between them, they decide to keep their breakup a secret to avoid breaking their friends' hearts, especially since this is the last time they'll be together in the cottage, which is up for sale.

Harriet, a driven surgical resident, and Wyn, a laid-back charmer, must now fake their relationship for a week in front of those who know them best, a task easier said than done.

Things We Never Got Over, by Lucy Score (2022)

Naomi Witt never thought she'd be known as Runaway Bride, but here she is. After an unpleasant couple of days and an even worse introduction to the small town of Knockemout, Virginia, she's now seriously reconsidering her life decisions, and her loyalty towards her twin sister.

I haven't read anything as madly exciting as Lucy Score's Things We Never Got Over yet. Her distinctive characters and laugh-out-loud humor kept me racing to read chapters as fast as I can.

In Five Years, by Rebecca Serle (2021)

In Five Years is about Dannie Kohan, a lawyer working in the financial sector. She is nothing like her best friend Bella, who is a real feminist and wild. Her proficiency when it comes to planning seems to have paid off since she nails the most coveted job interview of her life and accepts her boyfriend's marriage proposal in one fell swoop, nodding off completely content.

But one day when she awakens, she finds herself in a completely different apartment and beside a stranger. In Five Years is an everlasting love story, but it is certainly not the one you're expecting.

She aspires to be a confident, independent woman—one who wears a bright yellow suit, dates men that don't meet her mother's standards, and confronts her boss's microaggressions. She wants to be someone who is confident in her choices, not someone who feels the need to Google every decision she makes. However, when tragedy strikes, Maddie is forced to confront the potential risks and rewards of opening her heart and taking control of her life. Hood Feminism, by Mikki Kendall (2021)

How can feminists stand in solidarity with the likelihood that there are women who oppress others?

The present-day feminist movement features a striking blind spot, and contradictory, it is women. Rarely do influential feminists address the issues of satisfying basic needs as feminist. Mikki says issues like quality education, medical care, food insecurity, living wages, and safe neighborhoods are all feminist.

But mostly, the focus is on enhancing privilege for the minority and not on the majority’s basic survival. This refusal to prioritize these substantial issues only exacerbates the old problems of women rebuffing at carrying titles and conflicting discord. Many women have myopic feminism due to class, race, gender intersection, and sexual orientation.

The post Top 11 Family Fiction Books About Family Life, Relationships and Lessons For 2023 appeared first on Joelbooks.

]]>

In the woven tapestry of family fiction, we uncover the intricate patterns of love, lessons, and laughter that unite us all in the shared experience of humanity.

I’ll make it clear from the beginning, you don’t need a family to enjoy a good family fiction book. Whether you’re into something light for a sunny Sunday afternoon in a park or you want to bring back some good old memories from your childhood, family fiction books can make your day better.

There are lots of great titles out there, and I find it hard to pick just a few only, but I’ve done it… I think my recommendations are excellent for someone who wants a relaxing experience, as well as families.

They’re adventurous, full of chilled action and rich in plot twists, ideal! In some of the books I wanted to focus on older generations or at least how they lived in the 60s, 70s, 80s, and 90s. Now let's see the top family life books.

What Are The Top Family Fiction Books?

Willie Mae's Son from Clinton Avenue, by Nathaniel Gawayne Sutton (2022)

Willie Mae's Son from Clinton Avenue is a Christian children's book that tells the true story of a poor kid from the inner city and his journey to becoming a successful man. The book emphasizes the importance of education not for the purpose of becoming rich, but to gain an understanding of the value of people over material things. The story is told from the perspective of the author, who shares how his cousins and uncle played a significant role in shaping his character and values.

Through this inspiring and heartwarming tale, readers are encouraged to appreciate the role of teachers in their lives and to cherish the support of family and friends. The book is a tribute to the author's first teacher, Willie Mae, who taught him not only academic subjects but also life lessons about perseverance and kindness. This book is a testament to the power of education and mentorship in shaping the future of our children.

Maame, by Jessica George (2023)

Maame is one of those family life books that will take you through all kinds of feelings and emotions. While the world has a series of different meanings, in this case, it refers to a woman. Now, the story follows Maddie, whose life could be a bit better.

She lives in London, and no matter how hard she tries, she just can’t find that perfect balance of life, work and happiness. If you put yourself in her shoes, it’s not the best scenario either… Her mother spends more time in Ghana than in the UK, but she’s still overbearing somehow.

Then, her father is not in the best condition… Suffering from Parkinson's, he's transforming, and Maddie has to be the main caretaker. But she also has a job and it's not great either, especially since her boss is a bit of a nightmare.

Anyway, Maddie’s finally ready to change something… The next time her mother returns from Ghana, she decides to start living and jump out. So said, so done… She starts sharing a flat, goes for drinks after work, pushes more in work and even starts dating online.

But at some point, tragedy strikes… I won’t give you too many spoilers, but all I can say is this is a heartwarming and lovely story about family, humor, love and friendships. It may feel a bit sad at times, but overall, I think it’s got a good feel-good aura.

What Happened to Ruthy Ramirez, by Claire Jimenez (2023)

You’re going to love this one, probably among my favorite family fiction books ever. Now, the story follows the so called Ramirez women, who live in Staten Island. The family is scared since one of them disappeared. Ruthy was only 13 when she simply vanished.

It's been 12 years, and the police are unaware of her whereabouts, no one knows anything.

But the family gets some hopes up one night, when the oldest sister, Jessica, watches a TV show. Catfight is one of those dodgy reality shows where people come to disclose their problematic family lives and end up fighting and arguing. One of the people there looks familiar…

Sure, her hair is red and her name is Ruby, but she has a beauty mark under the left eye and that mark looks extremely familiar.

The family is definitely not doing great, but the two sisters Jessica and Nina decide to drive where the show is hosted and find out more about that woman. When their mother Dolores finds out, she wants to join, and she also brings a friend, Irene.

I’ll let you discover the rest, but get ready for a beautiful story, a mix of drama, love, emotions, happy and sad moments altogether.

This Family, by Kate Sawyer (2023)

This is probably one of the most emotional family life books I’ve ever read and mainly because I find myself in many stories. It’s not just that, but the book is extremely well written and can certainly trigger a few emotions.

The story follows Mary, who’s managed to raise a family in her house. She has beautiful and well raised kids, as well as plenty of good memories. But now, it’s time for her to get married… And she’s going to do it in the same house.

Her extended family is fractured, though. There are all sorts of conflicts, people scattered everywhere and, well, lots of trouble whenever they come together. Pretty much like my own extended family… But anyway, Mary’s about to get married and she wants everyone there.

The book spreads over a whole day, and the action takes place in the cool English summer. Apart from all kinds of happenings, you’ll be introduced to memories from the past, so you can get a clue about who everyone is.

There’s joy, grief, happiness, stories, hope and, well, pretty much any emotion you can think of. It’s such an authentic book in terms of how it makes you feel that you just can’t go wrong with it.

The Garnett Girls, by Georgina Moore (2023)

Three girls, three completely different characters and three lives going in opposite directions. The story brings in their mother as well, which is just as unique. Now, this is one of those family fiction books that will surprise you with a new secret every few pages.

There are all sorts of responsibilities they need to deal with, while also keeping their secrets, of course.

Just like in real life, this book shows how far love can push you, and that's probably why I liked it so much. Love makes you do things that you wouldn't normally do. And each of these characters has a different approach to it.

Margo and Richard’s relationship failed. Now, she refuses to even mention his name. Her three daughters have their own things… Rachel wants to get to London, but she loves the family home too much. Imogen is pressured into starting a family, while Sasha is struggling between two different worlds.

This book raises a very important consideration, and that's what hit me… Can you escape your parents' mistakes? Will you ever be free of their mistakes? It's said we do what we see at home, and it's true, if you think about it. But then, there's room for more, and that's exactly what this book’s about.

Skandar and the Phantom Rider, by A.F. Steadman (2023)

I know, this is one of those family fiction books that can go in a different category, along with golems, orcs and elves, as well as stories that often make it to movies. Wrong! Sure, some of the creatures in it can take you there, but if you dig deeper, you’ll realize it’s a family book with a beautiful story.

Anyway, let me start with the story… Skandar has managed to train as a unicorn rider, which was his life goal. He and his friends are in their second year now, but a threat arises and aims to kill all wild unicorns. Everyone thought they’re immortal, but it looks like they can get killed.

It's part of a dark prophecy that seems to become a reality now.

Skandar’s sister is in the same boat. Kenna wants to join him in the attempt to save the island. The two embark on a family adventure of a lifetime. They'll discover a series of secrets about each other, as well as their relationship. They’ll bond and grow stronger, but will they manage to complete their mission?

Despite the Devil, by Shawna James (2020)

Stephanie is attracted to Andrew Simmons, a smart, tall, and gorgeous man who is very inclined to sports. The cherry on top was Andrew being interested in her too. As their relationship grows, Andrew’s past starts to haunt him. Andrew hoped that starting a family would help him move on, but the hope soon vanished when on every turn he makes, he sees his past chasing him down.

With the ugly decisions they have made before, Andrew and Stephanie could only wish that they could build a happy family together without having to worry about the repercussions of their past mistakes.

Will the two experience a happily ever after, or will their past prevent them from living peacefully together?

Recipe for a Perfect Wife, by Karma Brown (2019)

Despite having a profession in publicity, Alice Hale did not think twice of leaving it behind to become a writer and follow her husband in the outskirts of New York. But as soon as they arrived, she found herself alone in a big house. The story gets interesting when Alice finds an old cookbook, stacked away in a box in the house’s basement, which sparks her interest with the previous owner: A housewife back in the 1950s named Nellie Murdoch.

As Alice flips through the pages, she unravels the ominous side of Nellie’s life which includes her marriage and some unsent letters for her mother. With Nellie’s story increasing Alice’s anxiety upon the piling pressure of her own marriage, Alice then decides to be in full control of her life and hides a few secrets herself in order to protect her well-being.

What events will take place inside the Hale household?

The Great Alone, by Kristin Hannah (2018)

Coming home from the Vietnam War could change a man. Ernt Allbright, a former POW, had made a rash decision of moving his whole family to Alaska when his last job failed. Caught in her family's difficult state, thirteen-year-old Leni has hoped that coming to a new land will give them a chance at life.

The Allbright household thought that everything was going smoothly during the first few days in Alaska. However, the moment winter came, and darkness engulfed the peaceful land, everything went downhill.

As Ernt’s delicate mental health begins to worsen through the days, Cora, his wife, has realized that it is up to her to protect her family from the ugly truth behind Alaska’s enchanting beauty.

Open House, by Katie Sise (2020)

A great domestic thriller from the author of We Were Mothers.

A long time missing woman Emma McCullough, and her sister who couldn't accept the fact that she lost her sister. This tragic mystery shatters Haley life, but the first evidence after ten years finally found. The puzzle pieces slowly come together, to reveal the whole story.

If you enjoy mysteries and thrillers, this book may be a compelling read for you. The story explores themes of loss, grief, obsession, and the lengths people will go to uncover the truth. The author's use of vivid imagery and suspenseful storytelling can keep you on the edge of your seat and engaged in the plot.

This Is Not How It Ends, by Rochelle B. Weinstein (2020)

A contemporary friendship fiction.

The story begins with the meet of Charlotte and Philip, it seems they always know each other, there is a strong bond between them. But the relationship changes over time and Charlotte feels the feelings aren't the same on Philip's side.

When a tempest sweeps across Islamorada, astonishing disclosures test Charlotte's allegiances and overturn her existence. Compelled to reassess her past decisions and those still to come, Charlotte sets forth on a moving voyage of camaraderie.

Will she stuck in the past, or begin a new future?

Conclusion

These are some of my favorite family fiction books out there. You’ll notice they’re completely different from one another, and I find myself in all of them. I truly believe most families out there can recall certain memories similar to what they’ll have in these releases.

Families, conflicts, all kinds of happenings and feelings, tight families or broken families, we've all experienced such things to a certain level, and that's exactly why I believe everyone will find themselves in these books. And despite the drama sometimes, they’ll bring in some good feel-good vibes.

War Torn Series Book 1

War Torn follows the story of Frances Meyer a young English-French violin virtuoso as she battles to survive the rigors and unspeakable horrors of WW2.

It is October 1942. Whilst trying to escape by boat from France to England with her ailing Jewish husband, Frances finds herself shipwrecked and alone in the Atlantic. She is rescued by a German U-boat setting out on patrol, commanded by Kapitan Kristian Mueller.

Frances must learn to come to terms with the death of her husband, and the dangerous and dreadful conditions on board a U-boat. The constant noise from the engines, the smell of diesel, cramped conditions, one toilet, not to mention fifty young men, all of whom are oozing testosterone.

Despite an initial dislike for one another, Frances and Mueller find that they cannot ignore the chemistry between them, and they embark upon a clandestine affair. This affair is quickly brought to an end when the U-boat returns to port and Frances is torn from the arms of her lover. She is arrested by the SS, and interned in Drancy holding camp, where she befriends a young Jewish woman who teaches her the art of survival. When they are later sent to Auschwitz, Frances finds that surviving a death camp is virtually impossible, and even more so when there are those from both sides who want you dead.

I fell in love with Talia Hibbert's writing style recently, but I can proudly say that I have been through most of her books.

Known for her modern paranormal romance style, she stands out with diversity. There are different narratives, people of all ethnic groups and with different life experiences, something for everyone.

Who is Talia Hibbert?

Talia Hibbert is a writer who began self-publishing in 2017 and released her first nine books within one year.

In 2019, her first traditionally published book, Get a Life, Chloe Brown, was released with Avon Romance, and it is the first book of a family romance trilogy.

Hibbert dealt with negative comments about her dream to be a writer during her childhood, and that she used an inheritance from her great-grandmother to finance the beginning of her writing career.

Talia Hibbert's writing process involves being constantly inspired by the characters in her books. She writes down ideas as soon as she wakes up, often using her phone while still in bed. She has even written entire scenes on her phone before getting up to start her day.

Get a Life, Chloe Brown was the first book to hook me in and the first I will introduce you to. However, the list is much longer than that. All in all, here are the best Talia Hibbert books out there and what you should expect from each story.

What Are The Most Prominent Talia Hibbert Books in order?

Get a Life, Chloe Brown (The Brown Sisters Book 1) (2019)

This is the first book in The Brown Sisters series. If you are into social media and geeky stuff, you might have heard of it, it is all over TikTok. In fact, this is how I heard of it…

Anyway, the book follows Chloe Brown's life, a geek with lists, plans and goals. She knows what she plans to do at any given time, any minute, or any day. But one day, everything changes, and so does her life.

Instead of being the most organized person in the world, she decides to get a life and sets some new goals, mostly about rebellious things every youngster wants to do. She needs a teacher, though, and this is when she finds a bad boy with a motorcycle and tattoos…

It is a relaxing book, but I think introverts will find it more exciting because it shows how you can get out of your shell without exposing yourself too much.

Act Your Age, Eve Brown (The Brown Sisters Book 3) (2021)

This is the third book in the same series. I find it difficult to decide which one is better, so I recommend going through the whole series.

Eve is a mess. No matter how hard she tries, everything goes wrong… Until one day, when her parents decide it is time to grow up and show some responsibility.

On the other hand, the story also follows Jacob, who is the most disciplined person you have ever known. He is a perfectionist, so when Eve shows up for an interview with her messy purple hair, he decides to reject her straight away.

One thing leads to another, I will not get into details to avoid giving out spoilers, but after a mild accident, Eve ends up working her way in. And this is when a messy relationship starts between two completely different personalities.

The Princess Trap (2018)

This is one of the steamiest and most romantic Talia Hibbert books, a must if you are into romance, a bit of drama and a few plot twists.

After multiple disappointments, 30 year old Cherry decides she no longer wants a relationship. But then, she has needs… And she meets this attractive man in the office. She is not interested in a relationship, but he seems perfect for a classic one night stand.

Cherry has no idea that he is actually a royal. His lifestyle is not worth a royal status, though, and he is notorious for his filthy profile.

The two are caught kissing by the paparazzi, and everything goes crazy. The palace is disappointed because he failed one more time, the press is all over with news, and Ruben has one solution.

Dreaming of her one night stand, Cherry ends up in a fake engagement scheme to save Ruben’s reputation.

A Girl Like Her (Ravenswood Book 1) (2018)

I started the Ravenswood series out of curiosity, and it hooked me in straight away. This is the first book and obviously my main recommendation since you need to get along with the characters before moving on.

Ruth is struggling with autism, a bad reputation and a scandal from the past. She is considered the black sheep in Ravenswood. She does not really mind it, though, but things seem to change when Evan comes to town.

Evan is her new neighbor. Recently returned from the army, he is confident and has no clue about her past or reputation. A few friendly chats convince Ruth that Evan likes her, but she is not too confident in men.

She has the desire, but her mind tells her to be cautious. However, Evan feels like a safe bet.

Anyway, I will not go on with spoilers, but this is the type of book describing every girl’s experience out there. Everyone has been through such a story before, so it is totally worth it. Plus, it has plenty of humor as well.

The Roommate Risk (2021)

Jasmine is not the luckiest girl out there, but she knows that a stiletto heel can work a very long way. She believes in lust, but not in love, and she is perfectly fine with it. Until one day, when a plumbing issue leaves her homeless.

The good news is she can crash into Rahul's, one of her best friends. Rahul has a crush on her. It has been going on for quite a while, but he has always kept it to himself. Now, they are roommates, and he struggles to keep everything under control.

An attempt could chase her away, but it may actually work.

I know what you are thinking, they end up being together, but trust me, this is one of the twistiest books I have ever read. Just when you think you know what is about to happen, a plot twist kicks it in a different direction.

Work for It (2019)

Griffin is an outcast in the village. He is not too much into people, until he meets Keynes, a stranger who has everything he has ever wanted in a man.

One disaster, an unexpected meeting and a mix of feelings, this is what you can expect from this uncommon relationship. They are not together, but they would like to. He is vicious, but he is also charming. It is a story that does not let you figure out which way it is going…

Later on, things clear out and start making sense, though.

Inspiring Quotes From Talia Hibbert Books

So I’m doing it for you because that’s how people should behave; they should fill in each other’s gaps.

―Talia Hibbert, Get a Life, Chloe Brown

I told you before, that there are different ways to fail. Imperfection is inevitable. That’s life. But it doesn’t sound to me like you failed at all, Eve. It sounds like your dream broke, and you’ve been picking up shattered pieces, and blaming yourself when your hands bleed.

—Talia Hibbert, Act Your Age, Eve Brown

Loving you is the easiest thing I've ever done.

—Talia Hibbert, Take a Hint, Dani Brown

Final Thoughts on Talia Hibbert Books

Bottom line, these are by far the most exciting Talia Hibbert books out there. While some of them may seem to follow a classic storyline, you will be surprised with the outcome. There is always something new popping up, always something to surprise you and perhaps this is what makes Talia Hibbert stand out.
